In Tanzania, numerous off-grid communities have been identified as ideal candidates for mini-grid electrification. However, many of these communities still rely on costly diesel-powered generators or solar home systems with limited productive use capacity. This is primarily because a significant number of rural communities have not been reached by the national grid or the existing solar mini-grids are non-functional or underutilized. Consequently, these communities continue to struggle with high poverty levels and minimal value addition in their economic activities.
